Visit of Templo del Sol and boat back to Copacabana
Templo Del Sol
After a very good sleep, we are both feeling super fresh. A very serene breakfast with a view is another sign of a good day. We have the sites of the Southern part of the Isla Del Sol to visit this morning. The biggest one is the Temple del Sol which is 20min walk further from the hostel. The other sites are around Yunami harbor and we aim for the 10h30 morning boat back to Copacabana.

We leave the lodge a little before 9am and walk to the most imposing structure from the Inca that is left on the island. The temple is on 3 levels and fairly well reconstructed. Each platforms have high walls and almost all the doors and inner rooms are available to walk through. The rooms are really narrow and you wonder how people could have lived inside. It’s in a secluded cove and we were lucky to have it for ourselves.

Then we have another 45min walk back to the main town of Yunami and we walk down the other remains of the Inca left. The Inca staircase, which starts from the also pre-Inca water fountain and source cascading down the staircase to the harbor.

This little piece is beautiful because it’s so full of like. The water from the spring follows the staircase all the way down and, on each side, the grass is in full bloom. There are daisies, cute birds and poppies.

Once at the bottom of the stairs we meet again two of our travelling companions from the Uyuni tour! They are taking a boat to the north side and hiking what we did yesterday. We should be able to meet again in Cusco. I have their whats app, I will see if we can catch up for diner or a drink in Peru !
Along the harbor is another long wall that is also an Inca remain.

We have about 45min to kill before the boat leaves for Copacabana, we order a tea from the local shop and enjoy the view.

In Copacabana, we stop at a coffee shop for a light lunch before going back to Mia Posada the hostel we had stayed before. The afternoon will be spend resting. Tomorrow our bus to Peru only leaves around 5pm, so we have the whole day to visit the small town and the few Inca sites that are walking distance from our accommodation.
