Galapagos: Whale sharks in Darwin
whale shark
We sailed again overnight to arrive in Darwin island, which is the lost remote of the archipelago.
This is one of the most famous diving spot. Here they say it's a lot of hammerheads shark and whale sharks !
Our first dive is already awesome, we saw our first ever whale shark really close and it was a huge one ! Apparently, it's only female that you can find here.
The hammerheads and Galapagos sharks were everywhere and we got to see them less than 2m away. The second dive, we saw 1 whale shark again and on the last one we saw two.

All these dives were stationary, we would stay in one spot for 20min to sometimes all of the dive and just enjoy the show.

That second dive today was the best, hundreds of hammerheads. No sharks was smaller than 4m. Everything was huge, from the schools of fish, the wrasses, the massive tunas that came so close to us ! Staying stationary on such a dive site is the best decision, after a while all the life slowly gets closer.
On each of the safety stops, silky sharks were circling us in the blue. They are very elegant.
In the evening, we were hanging around the sun deck and we saw hundreds of dolphins herding fish from the surface. Some were jumping out of the water. The birds started to come too. This was so nice to see !
